Good afternoon fellow owners. We recently concluded our Board of Directors meeting in early November 2023 and one thing that is constant is change. We met with First Onsite to discuss various timelines. I again state that we do NOT have the ability to predict a specific re-opening date at the present time, one of the most important milestones we must first reach is the restoration of electric service to our property. Unfortunately, FPL has not yet accomplished this task in spite of our daily calls to them. One thing we did learn in talking with First Onsite is that they are hopeful (no promises) that the work to restore our property will be substantially completed sometime in January 2024. And of course, this timeline will change as we move through the final months of 2023. Once First Onsite’s work is completed, we can then move into the next chapter of uncertainty. That is, the timing of getting the resort doors open to owners and visitors. This uncertainty includes, but is not limited to the availability of housekeeping personnel, supplies, cable television and internet service, and most importantly, the approvals by the Town of Fort Myers Beach to allow owners and guests on the property. In discussing all of these variables with HGV management, they have advised us that it is not practical to be able to give our owners a guaranteed 30 days notice of the resort opening date due to these variables. HGV will endeavor to give as much notice as possible, however be advised it may be much less notice than the 30 days previously announced. While this entire situation is unfortunate to those wanting to vacation at the resort, please be reminded that once the resort is open, all credits/refunds of maintenance fees end, even if you are unable to occupy your week due to personal circumstances. If you are making travel arrangements, we strongly encourage that any prepaid travel be purchased on a fully refundable basis only. As Chip Fosth has stated previously, as soon as we have a better timeline on things, we will announce it immediately. Thank you. Tim Pellerin, Board President
