Valued Seawatch Owners,
This week at Seawatch we remained busy & continued to move in the right direction with our reconstruction! Summit Fire systems continued their work on re-building our essential lifesaving systems. New wiring continued & new sensors & notification devices were installed. Our painters finished sanding & applying the first coat of stain to our elevator landing railings, which look great! Price Electric wired & installed all the new turtle compliant lighting cans above the pool bar, bathrooms, & handicapped ramp areas. They will be doing the lobby area next, along with continuing to trace wiring from the ground floor. Mid Island Watersports was out grooming the beach again to insure it looks as beautiful when we reopen, then it did when the storm hit. They had to till up & drag the sand again to make sure all the root structure from the plants that had sprouted during turtle/bird season where being removed. Friday afternoon our first truckload of drywall & plywood was delivered for the first-floor wall & ceiling repairs! By the end of the day Friday, they had begun to hang the new drywall in the Game Room!
From our meeting with our general contractor, First Onsite, FPL is scheduled to be at Seawatch January 11th to reconnect our power. My fingers are crossed! We also were notified that the ground floor glass panels for the resort were due to be received at the end of February & would begin to be installed the first week of March. We do not have a timetable for the new front doors, pool doors, or external Fire Doors. I know many of you are waiting patiently for when we will be announcing an opening date, I am too, but at least this announcement will give those of you in the first quarter information you need, to make decisions about your travel plans. We are moving as quickly as we can & pushing our contractors to do what they can to put us back together. The Seawatch Team & I appreciate your continued support.
Happy Holidays,
Chip Fosth
Resort Director
