Valued Owners,
We continued to stay busy this week navigating a number of projects. On the inside, Cornerstone was here, as expected and installed and finished off the front office desks and the security desk. All the cabinets were set up in the sales office and the granite will be installed this coming week. Dawn and I anticipate being able to move back into the front office and being able to get set up there.
Additional I.T. work should be completed shortly as well. We are very excited to be getting settled there! The new fountain lights and pump were installed, and the base rocks should be delivered
soon. As you can see from the pictures, the new glass panels and track work were delivered for the front and rear doors for the property. Having the plywood off the doors is a great feeling! Hopefully this week we will be able to make them operational.
On the outside, Universal completed installing the rebar ties that will connect to the new concrete underlay for the pool deck. They graded the pool deck area to level out all the piles of dirt from the
privacy wall, drainage, and pool projects. This week we anticipate they will be able to build the concrete forms and put together the rebar framing underlay. The beach deck project continued putting in the spiles on the ramp and deck. The turtle police were out patrolling the beach, and as expected, the turtles have begun to nest in front of our property, as well as Gulf View which will slow the grooming of the sand in those areas. As usual, we will see some ground cover in the areas that can’t be raked because of the turtles, but Chris from Mid-Island has promised me he will do everything he can to keep our part of the beach as clean as possible.
This past week we also had our Board of Directors zoom meeting to review our progress. We discussed many items which included the cast iron piping leaks noted in last week’s update. We still do not know the extent of the damage, but we did get to view the camera footage from Blue Works. They have not submitted their proposal yet, largely because they need to figure out how extensive our issue may be. Additional inspections of the lateral piping will most likely need to be done. As you may imagine, we need to make sure these repairs will need to be completed and done right the first time to avoid problems in the future.
Thank you to all the owners who were here and stayed a safe distance from Seawatch, taking pictures from the beach, the water, or the street. I know how badly everyone wants to be back at
your “Home away from Home,” and we can’t wait to see you, but your safety while we are under construction is the most important thing. Seawatch is an active construction site, so please refrain
from coming to the property until we reopen. Staying Seawatch strong,
Chip Fosth
