Dear fellow Seawatch-on-the-Beach owners, a quick update on the cast iron sewer pipe issue. The walls and ceilings on stack “six” have been opened up to expose the piping system and the pipe replacement on this stack is to commence immediately. The early indications after visual inspection are that the replacement of all these pipes is an absolute necessity as it appears most of them are seriously compromised. Thus far, I have been impressed with everyone involved with this project as they seem to understand that time is of the essence. One thing I would like to clarify, previously, Chip indicated we needed to replace the whole plumbing system. Chip’s statement was referring to the complete cast iron sewer system only. As with the last post, there are a lot of unanswered questions. We are finalizing review of the three quotes for the remainder of the building cast iron replacement and HGV is in discussion with the insurance adjuster on available coverage for this project. Tim
