Good morning fellow owners, This morning, I write to you from Seawatch! Yesterday, we held our grand opening ceremony and the attendance was close to 200 owners, vendors, and the local Chamber of Commerce. Once I receive the pictures I will post them as a subsequent post. Today, we will welcome our first group of owners. We can finally remove the disclaimer about our opening date being tentative, however, in its place we need to add another important disclaimer, the resort is not perfect! The pool and spa are filled and chemically balanced. For the pool, the hand rails need to be added, the heat needs to be connected and the health department must inspect. The spa has the same issues. And, we heat the spa with propane and we have had great difficulty getting the only supplier of propane on the island to set a new tank and connect the spa. As a result, we also cannot use our grill stations yet due to the propane issue. The irrigation and landscaping is well underway but not yet complete. Finally, there will be various issues with the units that can only be discovered by someone in residence. When you do visit Seawatch, please notify the front office of all issues in your individual unit as soon as they are discovered. This includes the most insignificant details like a missing utensil. By doing this, we will get it right, sooner, rather than later. Our goal is to be best in class once again by year-end as these issues get discovered and resolved.
When I drove around the island this morning I am still amazed at the few complexes that are open. We concluded our rebuild process well ahead of others and for that we should all be proud. Cudos to Chip Fosth and his dedicated staff for all their efforts this past two plus years.
