Valued Seawatch Owners,

Again, this week we welcomed another group of owners who are seeing Seawatch for the first time since the storm and are wowed by our property and amazed how far we are, in comparison to the rest of the island. This week I had the pleasure to meet with other property owners on the island in a breakfast meeting with the City, along with an evening meeting at Margaritaville where I got to speak with our mayor and the President of the Chamber of Commerce. We got to talk about many things island related, and share wins and losses on what has been challenging to put FMB back together. I shared my experiences with contractors, delayed permitting, hold ups and red tape. Hopefully that will lead to removing some of the roadblocks we are still experiencing on the remaining Seawatch projects. My experience has shown me that many times “networking” in this manner can help work through some of those challenges informally. I hope that it will be in our case.

We continued to work on projects around the resort. Additional signs were added to the beach gate that indicate we are a private property. As it turns out, the public, hearing Rhonda’s blenders, thought we had a “Beach Bar.” Since both the Tiki Bar at the Outrigger and Pinchers at the Wyndham are no more, there are no other beach bars close to us. We added a coarser tile coating to the upper pool deck and bathrooms. The initial one we put down did not perform as well as we’d like it to, and we hope this one will give everyone more traction when those areas get wet. FPL sent us an invoice for the new light pole by the tennis court, so hopefully we will be getting a replacement pole there soon so we can light up the tennis court at night along with automating the irrigation system on that side of the street. We also had to rewire the front office after 3 days of darkness and extension cords. It turns out that Hurricane Milton did get water high enough to intrude on some of our buried wiring which failed. We also completed one of the projects I had pitched to the Board during one of our numerous meetings. I remembered a conversation when it was pointed out that a person had “missed the driveway” because the iconic blue awnings had been taken down for repairs. Many of you know I spent 10+ years in Las Vegas and while we were in restoration I pitched to the Board, blue lights up the front of the building, which they approved. The project had a number of setbacks and changes due to making sure that spotlights would reach the top of the building, which was easy, but making sure the light would not bleed into the master bedrooms in the 01/06 units became the challenge. On Saturday 4/5/25, we completed our installation, and it looks amazing! You won’t “miss Seawatch” ever again. Fortunately, because the way the resort sits, they don’t need to be turtle compliant.

This week we also had our second owner appreciation event, setting up the projector and movie screen in the lobby to watch the NCAA Men’s basketball final game! The owners had a great time and were appreciative that we continue to do things that set Seawatch apart from everyone else, I am blessed that I can help them create their families vacation memories with their kids and grandkids.

Staying Seawatch strong,
