Valued Seawatch Owners,
This week we concluded our Spring maintenance weeks, finishing up floors 6 and 7. Sheers were installed, carpets cleaned, door walls repaired, screens cleaned, and patios deep cleaned. All the remaining AC filters were changed along with any room paint touch ups. Metro Power finished hooking up the exhaust system for the backup generator. The concrete pad for the fuel tank is expected to be poured in the next 2 weeks. The final drawing and approvals for the new door and vents for the generator room were signed and production will begin shortly. It should take about a month for production from what we’ve been told. The new chemical barrels for the pool were installed and are currently feeding the system as required. We are still waiting for the approval of the new location for the propane storage tank for the north side of the building.
Saturday June 14th was Flag Day and Seawatch celebrated with 100 US flags donated by Board member Tito Barrett and his wife Gina. Ft. Myers Beach and Estero Blvd were covered almost from end to end with flags and a great outpouring of pride for the US of A. There will a YouTube drone video available shortly after this weekend of the entire island.
I received an email this week from our neighbors to the north at Gulfview. They are in the process of getting permits now to begin construction repairs on the building. They will be putting in a new pool during their reconstruction. They own the lot where the Dolphin Inn used to be and the movie theatre. The lot where the Dolphin stood is currently for sale. The theatre is currently being renovated to become a high-end steak and seafood restaurant, where the lower level a casual restaurant with a new dock and seawall. Further down, they are beginning to move into the new City Hall, which they are anticipating should be completed in the next 60 days. To our south side, Island Winds is expecting to open some of their units for rental beginning on Monday 6/23. It has been a long road back, but the rest of the island is doing its best to catch up to Seawatch!
See you soon!
