March 11, 2026…..
Dear fellow Seawatch-on-the-Beach owners,
Only one day has passed since we wrote to you on the fraudulent Facebook activity that resulted in yesterday’s shutdown of the unaffiliated Seawatch-on-the-Beach Facebook page. This morning, I was alerted to an owner who has paid $1,600 to rent a week in the upcoming month, having transferred money to a person who did NOT own the week in question. These renters also booked airfare and arranged travel to Florida. At some point, the office was alerted by the actual owners of the unit week that they would be using their week. With this news, the renters were then told that their rental contract was fraudulent, and they would not be given access to the week they paid. The renting party had presented a rental agreement that appeared to check all the boxes and the rental contract was prepared with the actual owner names as the renting party.
Simply stated, these transactions are for rent/sale by owner and do not involve the Board of Directors or Hilton Grand Vacations in any way. We need to caution you that confirming the name of an owner on a specific unit week and unit number only guarantees one thing, the name of a unit owner on that particular week. It does not in any way prove that you are transacting business with a legitimate owner, or, that the week in question is not subject to “lock out” due to unpaid maintenance fees. Tim
