Good morning fellow owners, Some questions have been raised about the insurance deductible and the need for a special assessment. At the present time, neither the Board of Directors or HGV have had any discussion as to the possible need for a special assessment. However, we will have to evaluate our financial situation once the hurricane rebuilding costs are fully accounted for. The facts are that we will assume a “named storm deductible” of $100,000. Many of you are correct that we do have “reserves” that can be used to partially or fully fund the deductible. This is because there are so many things we have reserved for that will be replaced by insurance proceeds. This will allow us to start the reserve process for these items all over again. Once the rebuilding is complete and the hurricane costs are fully known, we will be in a better position to answer this question. Tim
