January 18, 2024 Update

Good morning fellow owners, In the last several days, I have seen various social media posts from some of our owners, all of which are undermining the Board’s efforts at communicating factual information about Seawatch. Some of our owners have posted their opinions about when the resort will re-open, even speculating their personal opinion about the month of re-opening. We all know that when opinions get passed around from person to person, an opinion all of a sudden appears to be a fact. Yesterday, I read other posts that have now instructed our owners to request refunds of 2024 maintenance weeks at the end of the calendar quarter in which the unit use was lost. Please allow me clarify some things as of January 18, 2024. We have cleared two big obstacles delaying our rebuilding effort, those obstacles being the restoration of electric and the issuance of the south wall building permit. While both of these events are awesome, we are now playing a waiting game on both the glass wall and door panels, and the unit entrance door locks, the latter being an issue due to supply chain issues. Resolution of these items may now be the deciding factor(s) on our re-opening timeframe. Therefore, we do NOT have a projected re-opening date at this time. Now, on to the 2024 maintenance fee refunds. Nothing has changed from the procedure when we moved from 2023 to 2024, in spite of owner posts to the contrary. Q1 owners (ending 3/31/24) who lost their use and want a REFUND, must wait until June 1, 2024 to request a REFUND, not the end of Q1. If you call HGV in the months of April and May 2024 and request a REFUND, you will be told no credit exists to refund to you.
